The great spiritual, psychological, ecological, and economic crisis facing humanity today is unprecedented in the entire history of our species and thus gives us the wonderful opportunity to awaken to Total Revolution and so cocreate an unprecedented solution. For as Albert Einstein famously said, you cannot solve a problem with the mindset that created it. And as Eckhart Tolle wrote in A New Earth, “We are a species that has lost its way.”

The core of the problem facing humanity today is that Western civilization is dominated by the three m’s: materialism, mechanism, and money, whose antidote is the three L’s: Nondual Love, Life, and Light. This website is thus dedicated to invoking Nondual Love, the Divine Essence we all share; the creative power of Life, bubbling up from our Divine Source like a fountain; and the coherent Light of Cosmic Consciousness, which can shine radiantly through us once the clouds of unknowing are dispersed.

For it is only through Love and self-reflective, Divine Intelligence—the eyesight of Consciousness—that we can dispel the fear and ignorance that runs so many lives—caused by generations of religious, scientific, and economic conditioning—enabling us to return Home to Paradise, where we were conceived both as individuals and as a species.

Paul Hague, the instigator of this website, has spent a lifetime questioning the fundamental beliefs and assumptions of Western civilization in order for Life to heal his fragmented, split mind in Wholeness. Specifically, he has spent most of the last sixty years investigating the root causes of conflict and suffering in the world and the last three decades studying why evolutionary change and technological development are accelerating at the unprecedented exponential rates we are experiencing today. The unprecedented solution to today’s crisis being presented here is thus based on a wealth of life experience.

Most particularly, I am essentially a communicator, learning from my education as a pure mathematician and from my twenty-five years in the information technology industry—mostly with IBM in sales, marketing, and software development—to present complex situations in the simplest way possible. And there is nothing more complex than the unprecedented challenges facing humanity today.

Conversely, there is nothing simpler than the Principle of Unity, the fundamental design principle of the Universe: Wholeness is the union of all opposites. When we assimilate this universal truth in consciousness, we can see both sides of every situation with both-and thinking and living, an unprecedented solution to every problem we face in life. For there are no longer any problems to be solved. The world we live in is perfect just as it is!

This website is solidly based on the Principle of Unity, reflected in the word Paragonian, which literally means ‘beyond conflict and suffering’. For a piecemeal solution to the immense practical challenges we face today cannot work. We need to look at all issues confronting us as a coherent whole. This is the central purpose of the Paragonian Foundation, an idea that I had in 1985, some five years after I first saw that both capitalism and communism are incompatible with the invention of the stored-program computer and the Information Age we are now in. As I realized in 1980, the global economy holds the seeds of its own destruction within it and would most probably collapse within thirty years, when my daughter and son could well be bringing up children of their own.

Each of us, as unique beings, has our own way of dealing with this evolutionary inevitability. To take one example, Barack Obama, one of the most intelligent, articulate, and disciplined politicians in the world today, is attempting to restore the traditional work ethic, in which human beings are treated inhumanly as cogs in a mechanistic economic system, well illustrated by the popular movie The Matrix.

Such a way of managing our business affairs is dehumanizing because management accountants record the cost of human labour in spreadsheets, alongside the cost of machines and travel, and to economists our jobs are nothing but a statistic, not concerned about whether our daily activities are fulfilling or whether they help us reach our fullest potential as human beings.

Furthermore, such a political strategy violates the fundamental laws of the Universe and cannot possibly succeed. As rampant consumerism lies at the heart of the ecological and economic crisis we face today, it is vital that we become free of the consumer-producer cycle that currently holds our lives in a deadly grip. For the global economy is nothing but a confidence trick—not based on the Truth that sets us free—giving people a precarious sense of security and identity in life.

Such a radical change in lifestyle would free up time and energy necessary to follow the time-honoured adage inscribed on the wall of the temple of Apollo at Delphi—“Know yourself”—and to answer the most challenging question that any of us can ask ourselves, “Who am I?” For the only viable way forward for humanity is for us to heal the splits in our fragmented minds and so discover—through self-inquiry and other psychospiritual techniques, such as meditation—what it truly means to be a human being, free of our collective, cultural, and personal conditioning, which leads us to behave more like machines than the Divine, Cosmic beings we truly are.

As this opening page is already far too long, I invite you to explore this evolving website through the Foundation and its four constituents, briefly introduced below with links in the navigation panel on the left. All I ask as you look around is that you let go of any inhibiting belief systems and thereby contemplate the possibility of what some leading luminaries consider to be impossible. For as Osho aptly said, “Be realistic. Plan for a miracle!” Maybe it will then be possible to realize what John Lennon could only imagine: “all the people living life in peace.”

The overall purpose of the Paragonian Fellowship is to help stimulate the spiritual renaissance taking place today, giving it a common focus. The essence of this rebirth is that the monotheistic religions regard God as other, attempting to deny that our immanent divine Essence is Love. This is a revolution that is emerging primarily through intuitive, feminine energies, arising from the grass roots. However, this Awakening-of-Love movement lacks cohesion and a common vision. So we are seeking to create a network of networks that can generate the synergy we need to create a miracle. For synergy arises through new relationships that are formed, apparently out of nothing.

The overall purpose of the Paragonian University is to complete the scientific revolution that has been taking place during the past few decades, just as Newton’s Principia completed the Copernican revolution. Using our self-reflective Intelligence, we shall be engaged in awakening to ourselves, rebuilding the last 5,000 years of human learning on the Truth within the overall context of Consciousness.

The central issue here is that because the divergent tendencies of evolution have predominated over the convergent ones over the years, religion, science, and economics have taught us that we are separate from the Divine, Nature, and each other. Western civilization is thus based on seven pillars of unwisdom: misconceptions of God, Universe, Life, humanity, money, justice, and reason. Recognizing that we are all one, if we are to heal our fragmented minds, it is of the utmost urgency that we rebuild the entire world of learning on the seven pillars of wisdom.

The university is so named because university, like universe, has a Latin root meaning ‘turned into one whole’. But universities today are deeply fragmented, very far from living up to their name, falling far short of the wisdom that the young are desperately crying out for.

With the emerging spiritual renaissance and scientific revolution as prerequisites, the principal goal of the Paragonian Business Academy is to cocreate an economic revolution, recognizing that our health and well-being as a species is dependent on us all working harmoniously together with a common vision, free of the divisiveness of pathogenic monetary systems. By recognizing that in Reality we are all one, with no borders either within us or between us, we shall be engaged in cocreating a life-enhancing, ecologically sustainable economy called the Sharing Economy.

Paul Hague, the founder of Paragonian Publications, the only element that currently legally exists, has so far written one book on our rapidly changing society, with another two nearing completion, available for download.
