As evolution becomes increasingly conscious of itself at this time of accelerating change, we warmly invite you to participate in a major new initiative intended to carry humanity into the fourth and final stage of the fourteen billion years of evolution, seen from our perspective on Earth, and the third and final stage of human evolution.

As Pierre Teilhard de Chardin showed in The Human Phenomenon, the first three stages of cosmic evolution were concerned with the evolution of matter and the physical universe, of forms of life, and of concepts in the mind. In this last phase, it will be the awakening of Spirit that is the primary focus as the war-ridden, mental-egoic age (me-epoch) is transformed into a harmonious age of universal spirit (us-epoch). This will enable us, both as individuals and as a species, to return Home to Wholeness, the union of all opposites, when Alpha and Omega are united in the eternal Now at the end of time.

We call the peaceful, loving civilization that is emerging at this critical moment in human history the Paragonian Society. The word paragonian derives from the Greek words para, ‘beyond’, and agon, ‘contest’ or ‘conflict’, which is also the root of agony and antagonistic. Paragonian thus means ‘beyond conflict and suffering’, a healthy, liberated, and awakened way of being that we can realize when we are both unified with the Divine and integrated with the Cosmos.

The primary reason why Western civilization, which dominates the world through the global economy, is now dying is that it is based on the false assumption that we human beings are separate from God, Nature, and each other, when the truth is that we are in gnostic union with the Divine at every instant of our lives.

This separation has led the education system to be based on seven pillars of unwisdom, to use Arthur Koestler’s term, misconceptions about God, the Universe, Life, humanity, money, justice, and reason. So if we are to heal our deluded, schizoid society, we need to create an education system based on the seven pillars of wisdom, recognizing that we are all one Whole.

The Paragonian Foundation

The Paragonian Foundation consists of four major living organisms, the Paragonian Fellowship, University, Business Academy, and Publications, addressing the spiritual, educational, economic, and communicational aspects of the emerging civilization.

Spiritually, the aim of the Foundation is to create a global network of those living consciously from our immanent Essence, transcending religious divisions and exclusiveness, which historically have led to many holy wars, wars about the Whole. Educationally, the purpose is to heal the fragmentation of academia by establishing transcultural panosophy (the Theory of Everything) as the all-inclusive, vital science in which all disciplines can be expressed. And economically, the object is to create the infrastructure for the ecologically sustainable Sharing Economy, recognizing that none of us are separate beings, who can be said to own or do anything.

The motto of the Foundation is ‘Healing our sick society’, inspired by the works of Erich Fromm, who, in a series of brilliant books published in the 1940s to 70s, showed that we are very far from being healthy individuals living in a healthy society. In his greatest masterpiece To Have or To Be? he described the changes that we need to make in our lives if we are to avoid psychological, economic, and ecological catastrophe.

The founder

We are humbly offering to assume this meta-role because Paul Hague, the Foundation’s founder, has been living at the Omega point of evolution for the past twenty-five years, becoming increasingly conscious of this sublime situation during this time. He is thus a mystic and evolutionary pioneer, who has already completed the transformational process between the me- and us-epochs.

There are only two tasks remaining to him in life: to heal the split that has paradoxically opened up between him and his fellow human beings as the result of his lifelong search for Wholeness and the Truth; and thereby to deal with the many practical issues arising from this wondrous vision, which is ever present within each of us, as Arjuna discovered in the Bhagavad Gita.

By returning to our divine Source and by generalizing the enterprise modelling methods used by information systems architects in business, Life has taught Paul to conduct an experiment in learning that integrates all knowledge in all cultures and disciplines into a coherent whole: a unified relationships theory.

This megasynthesis, which Teilhard prophesied, has come about through Paul’s education as a mathematician and his forty years business experience in the information technology industry, mostly with IBM in sales and marketing in the UK and in software development in Sweden. Since 1980, he has used his knowledge of mathematics and computer science, together with David Bohm’s  theory of the implicate order, which unified quantum and relativity theories, to follow a spiritual path of jnana-yoga, the path of abstract knowledge in the East, and has thus healed the split between all opposites.

In particular, this includes nonduality and duality, the Divine and humanity, mysticism and reason, East and West, nonphysical and physical energies and fields, inner and outer, observer and observed, subject and object, and the feminine and masculine. The concepts of God and the Universe, which separate religion and science today, have become unified in Consciousness, the overall context for all our lives, much as taught by the Advaita sage and former president of the Bank of India, Ramesh S. Balsekar.

Publications

As an introduction to the comprehensive science of evolutionary change that has thus been revealed to him, Paul has written a 154-page book called The Paragonian Manifesto: Revealing the Coherent Light of Consciousness. It is called a manifesto because it is intended as a spiritual, nondualistic replacement for The Communist Manifesto, written in 1848, shortly before the great revolution in Europe of that year. Paul is also writing a major work of scholarship on panosophy, called Ineffable, Nondual Wholeness: The Union of All Opposites. About half this book, including a detailed description of relational logic, the both-and framework for panosophy and thus the most fundamental change in Western thought since Aristotle, is available for download from the Foundation’s web site. For as Albert Einstein famously said, you cannot solve a problem with the mindset that created it.

The overall purpose of this book is to establish the scientific truth that Consciousness is all there is and so complete the revolution in science that has been taking place during the past few decades, just as Isaac Newton’s Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy completed the Copernican revolution in 1687. When it is finished, Wholeness will provide the basic textbook for the Paragonian University.

As short introductions to these books, Paul has written a number of articles, also available for download. These include ‘Returning Home to Wholeness’, published by the Scientific and Medical Network in the Summer 2005 issue of its Network Review and ‘Mind and the Ineffable Godhead’, which describes how we can use panosophy to heal the divisions that have historically existed between the various religions of the world.

Working harmoniously together

We have no funding, premises, or fixed structures, beliefs, or paradigms that could inhibit the awakening of Love, Consciousness, and Intelligence, our immortal Essence. We just trust that evolution will increasingly reveal the wisdom we need to resolve the great global crisis facing humanity today. Put simply, evolution is a cumulative process, which proceeds in an accelerating, exponential fashion by creating wholes that are greater than the sum of the preceding wholes through the new relationships that are formed, apparently out of nothing. Recognizing this simple fact is of the utmost importance, for as a recent email from the Institute of Noetic Sciences stated, “the need for collaboration on major planetary shifts grows ever-more urgent.”

So by cooperating with each other, rather than arguing and fighting, we would create a miracle, much needed if the civil unrest in New Orleans this week is to be avoided as the global crisis deepens. Through our innate power of Love and by understanding the evolutionary forces that cause us to behave as we do, we have the marvellous opportunity to generate so much synergy that within just a few years, our beautiful planet will be ablaze with the radiant light of Consciousness.

Of course, many fears will also arise as the viciously competitive global economy inevitably self-destructs during the next five to ten years. But there is a way of conquering our fears and delusions. By bringing forth our innate spirit of kindliness, well demonstrated by the global response to the tsunami in South-East Asia last year, we can work harmoniously together with a common vision to heal our grievously sick society. Generating synergy in a spirit of love and compassion is our only chance of ensuring that the children being born today will be able to grow old enough to have children of their own.

The forthcoming apocalypse, dramatically described by John the Divine in the Revelations, is not a final battle between good and evil, but one in which Love conquers fear, so that we can all say, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” And it is not the Roman Empire that is due to decline and fall, as John foresaw, but the American economic hegemony.
